Comments: A Soviet scientist and his wife are hiding in an underground museum. They await their son's arrival. A nuclear war has broken out, and the world has been ruined. The scientist, who has won a Nobel prize and was employed by a nuclear defense agency, theorizes that life will return to the surface. Of course, there are also some who view him as senile. Who's correct?

This fine example of Soviet cinema proves that the enemy of the past felt the same way as us. The film is basic, as one would expect from the 1980s Soviet Union; however, it does bear a clear message from the Committee of Soviet Scientists for Peace Against Nuclear Threat: don't push the button! A question: Why does the Soviet military have M-16s or is that the U.S. military enforcing a curfew in Russia? That said, this film is very good if you enjoy such apocalyptic films.
