Notable Cast:

Duration: 1 hr, 39 min
Infractions: None.

Comments: The premise of this film is similar to the 2008 film. Though, this version has been taylored to fit the time it was released.

I feel this movie gives away too much too early. Key scenes are changed, which re-sequences the plot, making for a somewhat different story. There's also more gunplay than I recall in the novel. Though, in its defense, this film is still an enjoyable espionage thriller with some of the distinctive humor of the novel. It must be remembered that this film was created during a time when there was a real concern about infiltration of the Western governments by Soviet "sleeper" agents. I do, however, dislike how the meaning of "the 39 steps" was been changed. Otherwise, enjoy this film!
