Comments: The movie opens describing how global warming ruined the earth by raising the sea level. "The Rising" still continues into 2040s, a full generation after the initial catastrophe. A father-sons, marine recovery team is seeking artifacts without pay. The father's goal is to return the world to how it used to be. But, are there forces working to the contrary?

This is a decent adventure story. Yes, it suffers from poor acting; however, one can always enjoy the women in skimpy clothing (or the "buff" guy). The production is clever by showing partially submerged famous cities. I could have done without the odd slow-motion. The soundtrack is really excellent: there were times when I thought the sound came from outside. Overall, this is a very enjoyable adventure film that is not unlike Tomb Raider and Sahara. If you like those films, you'll enjoy this one.
