Comments: A widower and his two daughters arrive in their remote, work-in-progress second home in the near-future, damp forests of the Northwest. The elder daughter is practicing to be a professional ballet dancer and the younger wants to be a doctor. Then, that all changes. The electricity grid goes down, followed by the radio stations. They make their way back into town to learn that this is no ordinary power outage. People are descending into despair, and what that begets. The trio retreat to their remote home. All is going OK until the father is involved in a major accident.

This apocalyptic film follows a novel. It's really a struggle of two sisters in a very difficult situation. It's a bit "girlie" occasionally; however, the plot is plausible for the situation. The film is also emotional. Fortunately, it doesn't stray too far and remains relevant and enjoyable. Well done.
