Only his nephew understands Hulot, which drives a stake between the father and his son.
This tongue-in-cheek French film is very funny at parts and silly most of the time. There's little dialogue necessary to put into sharp contrast the trendy, ultra-modern, rich couple with the traditional, fun-loving French man. The film is definitely poking fun at gadgets, automation, and, what has become known as, yuppies! The main titles are clever and the ending credits are non-existent, just some stereotypical French music. Definitely a classic. |
