Comments: A young American woman travels to an English country estate for a job as a nanny. Obviously, this is out of her way: does she have a reason? The country manor is occupied by an elderly couple and their son. If the boy accepts the young American as her nanny, then the parents can enjoy a long-needed holiday. What sets this film apart from Mary Poppins is that the boy is introduced as a porcelain doll!

This film suffers from cheap shots to elicit fright. I did enjoy the backstory of the main characters because depth is frequently omitted in exchange for visual effects! But what really got me is the climax. It's similar to an Agatha Christie mystery story: "Oh, stupid me. Now I get it. I should have thought of that!" Definitely worth watching once.
