Comments: During the Red Scare of the '50s, a Soviet spy is captured in New York City. A successful insurance attorney based in Brooklyn is forced into defending the spy against the federal government. Of course, the spy is found guilt of all charges but sentencing opens an avenue for compromise. Meanwhile, Francis Gary Powers' U-2 is shot down by the Soviet Union. The lawyer, now a recognized abdicate of individual rights and peace, is requested to negotiate the prisoner exchange.

What a fantastic movie! The filming is excellent, and the acting is superb. OK, the historical content isn't entirely correct. But the spirit seems intact. Few films hold my interest when they expand beyond two hours. This is a notable exception. Highly recommended.
