The plan is to surrender to the Americans, which would encourage a Marshall Plan; thus helping the tiny economy recover. All does not go according to plan.

This movie, which is based on a satirical Cold-War novel, is hilarious! It's also works on many levels. For instance, there's a strong criticism of British government of the 1860s. How the diminutive nation survives the U.S. military is clever. Highly recommended!
