Comments: In gold country, a farmer is striving to make a better life for himself and his son. All is going well until he is robbed of his plow horse and rifle by a man that he saves on the river. The farmer has no choice but to follow the thief, but has to bring along his son and the dirt bag's "wife". They avoid hostile Indians as they race down the River of No Return.

Netflix's description got it right: "Marilyn Monroe never looked more radiant"! Also, her strong femininity contrasts, with excellence, Mitchum's masculinity. The filming is beautiful, too. There's a strong character conflict and a lesson-to-be-learned. Even the boy acts well. This is probably the quintessential Western. Highly recommended.
