Comments: This film follows Operation Market Garden of 1944. The plan was to capture three towns, and their bridges, in Holland from the Nazis, effectively creating an easy path into industrial Germany and "ending [World War II] by Christmas". History lists the outcome, but this film shows how it came about.

Talk about a powerful war film! Some of the dialogue is hilarious while the sheerly hopeless events are devastating. Highly recommended.
