Comments: Two amateur Bavarian climbers get leave from the army to take part in a competition to climb the north face of the Eiger. Weather dissuades all the other teams except an Austrian duo, who follow them up the face. When one of the Austrians is seriously injured, they band together to save his life.

This German film is based on a true story. I thought the movie very good. The contrast between those climbing and those covering the story, down in the fancy hotel, is beautifully executed. Recommended.
