Comments: The movie opens with a drunk man in a cell. Arrested for three charges, he's taken to the courthouse for trial. His trial is interrupted by Mexican protestors who burn court records. A price is put on the head of the ringleader. The central character, the now-sober Joe Kidd, is reluctantly pulled into a manhunt led by a large landowner who's goal is to kill the ringleader. But is the landowner ethical?
This is a very good revisionist Western. There's a powerful theme and plenty of action wrapped up in a reasonable duration film. Personal revenge and morals are the important aspects of the film. Beautifully filmed and scored, also.
