Comments: A young man is pretty much kicked out of town when a barn burns down. The judge seems dead set on placing the blame on this character. So, he crosses the Mississippi and looks for another place to call home. He stops in the small town of Frenchman's Bend, but it seems his spotty past catches up with him.

This is a classic American story brought to the silver screen. It can be a bit long at parts but the sterling acting makes up for it.
