| Title (Year): The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance (1962) Age: 62 yearsGRS Rating: 5 of 5Duration: 2 hr, 3 minInfractions: None.Comments: A young Eastern lawyer sets out West looking for a new life full of adventure and success. Little would he know that after nearly being beat to death by the gunslinging leader of a highway gang, he'd have a chance at both. This story is related in the past tense by the, now, well-respected U.S. senator.
This story is not only a good Western adventure, but also says a lot about politics, perception, and power. The main characters do a good job, the story is well shot, and the minor characters are excellent, too. John Wayne says many of his famous lines during this adventure. Highly recommended. |
