| Title (Year): Cracks (2009) Age: 15 yearsGRS Rating: 5 of 5Duration: 1 hr, 44 minInfractions: None.Comments: During the short years between the two world wars, a small British all-girl school is delivered a Spanish princess, as their latest student. Of course, there are religious differences, and social ones. The real trouble arises when this young Spaniard girl stands up to a popular, and seemingly stately, female English teacher.
As a disclaimer, I only rented this film to enjoy Eva Green. But I found that there was much intrigue in the plot. Also, the film does a good job describing the differences between the northern Europeans and their southern counterparts. Furthermore, the film is a bit of an eye into the ever unknown female. Also, the film parallels, in many ways, Virgin Suicides. |
