Comments: This movie depicts the time period from right after President Lincoln's Emancipation Proclomation to his assassination. So it includes the thirteenth amendment, and the drama around its passage. This is a very well done film. I guess the part that bugs me is the blantant focus of the North on the issue of slavery. While states' rights is mentioned, clearly the director (and probably Lincoln) care more about abolishing slavery. The victors write the history books.
