Comments: The main character returns to his small hometown of Jericho, Kansas after serving in the military for five years. Shortly after his arrival, the residents see a mushroom cloud in the distance. They slowly learn what happened to the rest of the States as they deal with their own community and personal problems.

This is a really fun program. The characters aren't annoying or overacted. The abilities of the main character can be a bit too heroic. However, it's neat to see how they respond to the stimulus. It's similar to Survivors in many respects.

Season 2 took the TV program from great to awesome. The second season delves into a political struggle to re-solidify federal power. Highly recommended.
