Comments: A cruel woman tricks a decent king into marrying her and then kills him. She then imprisons his daughter. Meanwhile the kingdom falls into ruin, hate, and poverty. The new queen feeds on young, youthful women to maintain her fair "beauty". Snow White is next on the list when she escapes.

I found this movie to be more than I expected. The acting is excellent. The setting is really quite good. OK, yes, crossbows and longbows were probably not used by the same force in tandem. The filming really puts one into the action. The scenery is excellent. There also aren't any silly Hollywood moments. Admittedly, there are some borderline scenes, but they're over soon enough. Also, be sure to watch the dwarves. I recognized many of them from other British and Australian films. High recommended!
