Comments: In the near future, on another planet, the capital rules with an iron fist over twelve districts. The food supply is regulated and children around 8 to 18 are entered into a drawing. The more food they "purchase" the more times their name appears in the raffle. This drawings decides which one boy & girl will represent their district in the gladiator games in the capital. When the main character's younger sister is chosen, she volunteers to take her place.

This movie is based on a young adult novel. It's really a very enjoyable film with a good message. Highly recommended.
