Comments: I expected this American version of the beloved British series to be complete trash. It really isn't half bad. I think it does a better job of introducing the idea to the American audience than the BBC version. The plot and dialog are emphasized in the right places to cement a response in the U.S. viewer. I hated that the Gene Hunt character is pussified to make him more digestible in this market. There's definitely something lost. However, the scriptwriter cleverly made up for this fault by building the other characters. All in all: not bad.

There are some positive changes. For instance, the peculiar and creepy girl who pops out of the TV in the British version to teach a lesson is replaced by a cute, and calm, flower girl in a nearby apartment. Also, the music is excellent and completely recognizable.
