Comments: A recent college graduate, driven by his turbulent home life, sets off on a road trip across the States. As he drives farther away from his family, he finds his longing to explore and adventure growing. It doesn't bother him that he left behind a "good" 9-to-5 job and an ordinary life as he explores the Colorado River and the California deserts. Driven by a desire to live a simpler life without the burden of money (he works small jobs along the way as he needs money) and social responsibility, he eventually heads for Alaska.

This movie really spoke to me. I have felt--and went through--similar times in my life, albeit to a lesser degree. This movie is based on a book written from the real man's journals. What a trip he had!
