Comments: This is a continuation of Elizabeth. It takes up where the first film leaves off: addressing Mary, Queen of Scots, and finally leading England against the mighty Spanish armada.

There's more serious character development of England's Queen Elizabeth. The magnitude of the decisions that she had to make is impressive. I could have done without some of the religious idiosyncrasy. I realize that during that time, if you don't believe in "my" sort of Christianity: "you are a devil worshipper." Perhaps the imagery was just a bit too much for me? Even considering this complaint, I thoroughly enjoyed this film. The movie is beautifully filmed and well-directed. This is a sequel that is true to the definition: it continues the original.
