Comments: Along with a small group of children, a Chinese peasant boy is chosen to be taught ballet in Beijing. He proves himself and is sent to the U.S. to represent the People's Republic of China in the Houston Ballet. He is well-received and doesn't want to return to China when they call him back. This refusal causes a political uproar.

Fortunately, this film doesn't focus on ballet. Instead it describes the man. The movie is based on his autobiography.
