Comments: A young British journalist travels the world of the 1930s looking for a good story. He witnesses the slaughter of Chinese civilians by the occupying Japanese army before finding his way to an orphanage for children who lost their families to the war. This Brit gives the kids a reason to live. He also becomes attached to them and leads them on a trek across the wintry mountains to the Gobi Desert.

I really enjoyed this drama. It takes a bit to get going but is really engaging. It's based on a true story.
