Comments: This movie has a very bold name. It's really not unusual for southern Californians to proclaim themselves the king, however, it is still unusual in a movie. In this movie an aging Hippie is released from a mental hospital. His hard-working daughter takes him in, only to find out that he has been researching buried treasure.

This film is really great. Not only does it describe the almost delusional dreams of southern Californians but it tempers them against a mundane and harsh reality of a common worker. The promise of California is never far out of the picture but yet, it seems unattainable to those who work hard. The scene digging inside a Costco made for a funny scene. The leading lady does an excellent job while flashing her blue eyes.
