Comments: A US Army battalion is surrounded and all but lost at the German front in World War I. This film is a bit rough but not terribly brutal like so many war films. What I really like about this film is that it shows why Americans triumphed over the Nazis. The major who runs this battalion cares for each and every man under his command, dead or alive, and will not accept surrender.
