Comments: What I love about this flick is the human aspect! If you throw away the police "power trip" attitude and realize that a real person exists inside every good cop, you'll understand me. In this movie one good cop fights against the others, at least, until he knows they are honest. I rejoice that one cop (Samuel Jackson) will stand against the Chicago Police Department to uncover the corruption--the theft from their retirement fund--to bring to light the few criminals in his department. This is wonderful, and it takes balls!

This is the definition of being American! One individual standing against the mindless, scared mob regardless of the perceived force against him. In this film one man remembers his right to live, without fear, in our fine country and doesn't bow down to the overwhelming authority (this "authority" is thoroughly photographed in this film).

The symbolism in this movie is subtle (e.g. SWAT trampling the seal of the city of Chicago and shooting up a window of the Internal Affairs crest). So I ask is it probable that the law enforcement will respect the power of the people if it readily destroys the symbols of its own power? Thank you, Hollywood, for a movie with a good meaning.
