Comments: This is the typically great superhero movie that we have come to expect from Marvel movies. It's inspirational and exciting. I know I am "pre-deposed" to supporting one man against society. Like many of us, I believe that goodness comes from the heart of only one man. As soon as a group of men are put together, greed sets in. This is why I admire and love the Marvel superheroes, despite not being a traditional comic book junkie.

I saw the cave entrance where Iron Man breaks out and escapes. (See the photo here. It's not in Afghanistan but near the wonderful little town of Lone Pine on a dirt road leading to the old silver mine Cerro Gordo (now, unfortunately, privately owned). Why would I know this? Bob and I were stopped on our trip up this dirt road by a construction team. One of the friendly builders explained that they were building a set for the upcoming Iron Man movie. No doubt he was proud of his involvement, and no reason why he shouldn't be very proud! Needless to say, the Hollywood-producers types drove by us ignoring the fact that a dusty old Nissan sedan pulled over to let them by!

This movie rises above the rubbish in today's politics and world affairs. One great American realizes what is going on and stands against the terrible destruction wrought by his business's weapons in the Middle East. This is what it means to be American: understand your mistakes (even if it takes a long time) and correct them.

I admit that I work for the defense industry so I was very encouraged "to do the right thing" by this movie. Defense is only a shadow away from war. I justify my involvement in "defense" by reminding myself that the work I do develops technology to protect our soldiers. This movie suggested what happens when the average foot soldier is destroyed just to make a profit, regardless of who is the customer. Scary and reality...

I couldn't leave out the fact that Gwyneth Paltrow looks really great as a redhead. Her gangly features are completed by the testa rossa or maybe it's something else. Regardless, she looks very good in this film. If you ignore my opinions and beliefs, then just watch this fun film just to admire her!
