Comments: I expected to just see some good shots of Keira Knightley (a personal favorite) but was impressed by the quality of this film. I became involved in the characters and understood the pain that kept Keira's and James McAvoy's character apart. The deceit of little Briony created terrible lives for them that was only rectified as Briony grew up and recorded the event in a novel.

The powerful destruction and lament of war is evident in this movie. What a terrible life it must have been to live through the occupation of Europe and the second world war. As Americans I do not think most of us can imagine the horror and despair of this gruesome conflict. I hope we never have to understand these atrosities.
