Duration: 2 hr Infractions: Drug use is a bit much at parts.
Comments: I was reluctant to rent this film because I'm not a fan of drug dealers. But the '70s soundtrack attracted me to this flick, and I decided to give it a go.
The movie held my attention throughout and also, like many period films, shows what it could have been like thirty years ago. A Manhattan Beach with friendly beach blondes who are looking for a good time, and not just money, was very refreshing.
Furthermore this movie acts on another level as it recollects the rise and fall of a South Shore hopeful from Weymouth, who moves to one of the Beach cities before becoming a major drug dealer in the 1970s. A powerful movie using the corruption in the cocaine business as a vehicle.
