Title (Year): A Scanner Darkly (2006) Age: 18 yearsGRS Rating: 5 of 5
Infractions: None. Comments: This movie is curiously painted in an impressionism style. It's obviously computer generated from real film. It's different than comic book drawing. The story is neither strong nor clear. I think it was a bad idea to bring this novel to film. Philip Dick's dark writing shines and isn't masked by clever technology (as in Imposter, Minority Report, and Bladerunner). The movie is a depressing tribute to the victims of drugs. |
