Comments: An F-14 pilot lives up to his call sign, Maverick. He plays by his own rules. When an encounter with a pair of MiGs forces the best pilot in the squadron to resign, the CAG sends Maverick and his Radar Intercept Officer to Miramar, California. The "Top Gun" school was put together to train naval pilots in the art of air combat. But will Maverick learn more than just some new "dog fight" techniques?

Finally, I got to see this great on the silver screen. It was worth every penny! The scream of the jets makes the audience feel part of the action on the carrier deck. Amazing! The cinema provided a short background of the film immediately before presentation.

I didn't realize how many actors and actresses were "made" by this film. Also, the U.S. Navy had a major part in the making of this movie. Maybe that's why, to this day, my favorite jet is the F-14 Tomcat? If you look closely, you can see a pod underneath some of the jets. These pods were made by Grumman to film the movie. The film increased enrollment in the Navy by 500%. Recommended!
