Comments: Like most epics lots of people die and the 'bad guys' are punished. In this case, the British army loses a war to a 'bunch of farmers,' which marks the end of the British Empire.

But unlike many epics this movie is blessed with excellent acting. The days of Ben-hur that dazzles audiences with amazing effects that masks the mediocre acting are no more, thank God. Even the part played by young Skye McCole Bartusiak is executed very well. This young actress, who appeared briefly in the second season of 24 as the daughter of some mad man from suburban Los Angeles, seems a born natural and we should be seeing more of her talent as the years progress.
